Who is Seal Party?
Chris McGrew & Kevin Seal launched this experiment in San Francisco during the surreal orange skies of 2020. With access to Wally’s HydeOut at Hyde Street Studios, they turned recording sessions into rotating parties alongside Liam Wesley Craddock and friends, blending soul harmonies, baritone melodies, and rock syncopation.
The sessions drew standout players from Chicago and New York, including Chris Rob, Keyon Harrold, Isaiah Sharkey, and Kenneth Whalum. The resulting 16-track album, MMXXII, arrived in late 2022. McGrew, Seal, & Craddock toured the central USA in 2023 with Spence Murray and Mikey Kmiecik.
